A Successful Running Week

I resisted the temptation to write about running this week in the event that it would jinx my first good week of running all year. Having been plagued with a spine injury and a disasterous sinus infection I was anxious and excited about running again. But I pulled it off.

My week was as follows:
Monday 2.5 miles hills
Tuesday Eliptical 20 minutes 1.75 miles
Wednesday 3.8 miles @ sharon woods
Thursday 2 miles treadmill (it was really nasty out)
Friday rest
Saturday 8 miles Westerville Bike paths
Total 18 miles.

Am I in pain? Of course I am. But it is the beautiful soreness that comes from a good week of training and not because of an injury. A day of rest followed by a light workout will get that back up to speed.

A great motivator for running is running with Friends. I ran with some friends on Wednesday and they got me through Sharon Woods. On Saturday as I was coming down the back half of my run I found a HUGE group of runners that were part of the fleet feet running group. One of them caught up with me and inspired me on to push my pace faster than I had been.

I look forward to making it through the next week of miles.
