Good Tuesday Run

Filed under: Daily Running — Administrator at 7:03 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2006

Ok, so yesterday I didn’t run or swim. Unfortunately a close family friend passed away and instead of going for the run I went to the showing.

Today even though I was up at 3:30AM cooking for the luncheon after the funeral, attending the funeral, and finally cooking I made my run. Just a 5K but I did it in about 28 minutes. Not as fast as I would have liked but better than I should have expected with last week’s lack of running.

After the 5K I was able to get a weight work out in. The workout is an all around work out that hits all of the major muscle groups. Today I’m not so sore, but tomorrow is another day altogether.

Work and Running - Not an easy mix

I’m 90 days out from my marathon and my training feels like it’s going in the can. Last week was a terrible training week. There was a major deployment of new software to at my company and we spent the week fixing bugs, resonding to issues. Sometimes we get off easy and have one or two days of bad stuff - but this month all we had were issues.

76 hours of work and less than 40 hours of sleep later my week ended and I’m looking at the next week’s running schedule. Today being Sunday I think I slept 15 hours over the course of the day. I look forward to the coming week’s running schedule.

Monday - 3 miles - easy pace. Swim 250 Meters
Tuesday Evening - Spinnging Class or 1 hour run. 1 hour weight training.
Wednesday Morning - Spinning Class
Wednesday Evening - Run 3 miles - hard pace 165 BPM
Thursday Evening - Spinnging Class or 1 hour run. 1 hour weight training.
Friday - Swim 300 Meters
Saturday - Rest or Long Run 11 miles
Sunday - Rest or Long Run miles
