Fundraising progress

Filed under: Team In Training — Administrator at 8:29 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2006

So this week I’m not making much progress on consistent running. It seems that everyday I’m working late. Lack of running progress aside I am making progress on the fund raising side. Tomorrow I have a meeting with the GM of Claudaugh. To talk about using their restaurant for a fundraising happy hour. At work we’re doing a pool. $20 per person to guess the weight of my as yet unborn son. $10 goes to the fund and $10 to the winner. If everyone enters we will raise about $600 for Leukemia Society.

I also sent out emails to ask people for donations to the fund. We have some money that we’re waiting on from some corporate sponsors but I’m going to start making calls to local companies. I think it’s really easy to call these places. One of my co-workers is practically a professional fund raiser and she’s going to be helping me out with the effort.

It’s exciting to start getting some momentum towards this. When you start looking at all of the different activities you realize how easy it is actually raise the money.

Interrupted Run

Today I didn’t get everything in. I was pressed for time so I consolidated my workouts into a interval run on the treadmill. I started at 200M and went up to 800 meters with 200 meter slow jog in between. Just as I was starting to taper backwards the treadmill quit.

I tried getting it started and nothing. I did get half of it in at roughly 8 minute pace. Tomorrow I’ll be a little sore but tomorrow is two laps of sharon woods.
