URGENT CARE MY FOOT!
Earlier I wrote about an injury to my shoulder as diagnosed by a medical practioner at a local Urgent Care. Well I suffered through 5 days of medicine and severe pain because they didn’t take the the time to listen.
When I went in to see them it was my shoulder with shooting pain to my elbow and hand. The shooting pain was ignored and I was diagnosed with bursitis. The medical practioner had an idea but sent me for xrays. As I walked by her on the way to the xray room I saw her looking up shoulder pain on her computer. For crying out loud! I had already done that. I knew it wasn’t bursitis.
First off - Severe upper arm pain with shooting pain into elbow and hands tells you it’s more than bursitis. There’s a nerve or disc or muscle in my back that is affecting this. So what is prescribed? A steroid treatment for 6 days. Other than inflamation which I had already been treating with normal practices for 5 days what is this going to do for this type of pain?
Second - Who uses Vicodin for extreme pain. I mean this was so intense that it felt like my arm was literally going to fall off. I was fortunate to have something stronger on hand at home which I didn’t want to use but finally didn’t have a choice.
Last but not least - I get told that they weren’t able to do anything more than that. If I had gone to an emergency room then they could do more for me.
Well what does that tell me? I’ll be going to an emergency room from now on.
Since going to that urgent care a week and a half ago, I have been laid up with upper back and arm pain so sever that unless I am totally medicated I don’t get up and move around unless I absolutely have to. I’ve also seen my family doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, and had an MRI with the hope that they will be able to identify what’s wrong.
So for any of you out there with real problems - go to Family Doctor and forget about the urgent care’s.
